In 1971, Ted Hoff, who was a scientist with Intel designed the first microprocessor. It held 2300 transistors that were etched into a piece of silicon. It was considered a mini-computer. His colleague, Frederico Faggin who was an engineer with Intel, was able to build Hoff's design into a product that worked.

The micro processor was developed and invented by Steven Jobs. Stephen Jobs invented the microprocessor in the mid-1970s. He developed the processor in the late 1970s.
