Who invented country music?

Although Eck Robertson had recorded old-time music in 1922, it was John Carson who was recognized as having invented country music in 1923. Carson had done recordings of southern rural songs also called hillbilly music. Country music is mostly associated with white southern music style.

There really isn't one person who invented country music. It is said that people in the south would sing tunes on their front porches or while working about their day and personal things that went on in their lives.
