What is the hardness of silver? |
Glad you asked...
The hardness of pure silver is 2.5 to 3. It is actually the same hardness as gold is. Being very soft in its pure form, alloys are added to make it stronger. It is not made into jewelry because of its lack of hardness.

Then again, this answer might help you...
The hardness that accompanies Silver is simply the fact that the silver is metal. The only time it would ever becomes soft is if it were heated to a certain temperature.
