How do you read a resistor value?

I will assume that you are referring to the color coding that is imprinted on the resistors. You simply take the colored bands, and compare the colors to a resistor color code chart.

To read a resistor value, you need to read the color lines. With the gold or silver line on the right, read the colors. Each color represents a number and a multiplier.
