To make a simple timer you will need two clear plastic cups, sand, scissors and a plate. Cut holes in the bottom of both of the cups and place them on top of one another bottom side touching. Place the bottom cup on the plate and add the sand to the top cup. Allow the sand to flow through to the bottom. It should take about one minute for the sand to flow.
