How are spark plugs manufactured?

Each of the major elements of a spark plug are manufactured in a continuous in-line assembly process; the center electrode, the side electrode, the shell and the insulator. Then the side electrode is attached to the the shell and center electrode is placed inside the insulator. Then the major elements are put together in one unit to make a spark plug.

Spark plugs are manufactured in factories where metal and other layer containing devices are produced. You will often see many spark plugs going down the assembly line.
